Frequently asked questions

Do you need to be an architect or engineer to do this course?

No, definitely not. Kitchen designers, site foremen, project managers, document controllers, electricians and other similar built environment professionals have completed the course.

How does this course help Design and Technical managers ?

There are very few formal routes into the profession. There are limited routes into the profession and there is an inevitable steep learning curve in the workplace. Engineers, architects, site managers and apprentices need to learn most of the role on the job. There are some degree and master programmes but these often take 2-3 years to complete.

How long is the course?

It depends on your own programme and time commitments. Some students do it a few days full-time, or as long as 2 months doing an hour or two per week. The total hours taken to watch the videos, read the handouts and do the tests is around 10 hours.

“Interesting courses”

The course was the right mix of technical and non-technical elements. The course was also interesting, as we learned a lot about  how this would work in the real world. The instructor did a good job of communicating and making it a more intimate arrangement.

“I improved my knowledge”

Excellent! I am an Architect working for an Architectural Design firm, Construction, and to a Property Developer. Currently, I am Managing Design "Design Manager" in a Property Developer company but do not have a define role to what my duties and responsibilities are. By taking this course, I learned tons of info about Design Management and its classification. Also, I have a clear and good understanding what type of a DM role I am. I highly recommend this course to everyone e.g. PM, DM esp. those aspiring Design Manager. I can't wait for the next course modules continuation!
